SMTOA Newsletter 9th Jan 2020
SMTOA COMMITTEE UPDATE
Your committee had an emergency meeting on the 4th and 5th January 2020 to review all the planned development of the Timeshare Village and also the Horsepool site on the overflow car park
The Committee are now taking the following actions:-
- Establish with Cornwall County Council when the resubmitted application will be validated and what the consultation period will be to make comments/concerns. Currently as this was resubmitted by Crown Golf on the 20th December the consultation period is 21 days until the 9th January 2020.
6.1.20 Confirmed with Cornwall County Council that once validated (probably this week) it will go live with the updated plans and we have 21 days (probably to the end of January 2020) to make comments - We have taken pictures of the whole site and will be publishing these on the website to show how the development will affect each individual timeshare lodge.
- The committee will publish our concerns in detail on this website. Initial reaction is as follows:-
Overview
Over Development
Impact on services
Access roads and general site infrastructure
Sustainability
Affect on 9th, 16th, 17th and 18th holes on the Kernow Course which means safety issues for visitors due to proximity to the course
St Mellion will become a mass market holiday park rather than the current 5 star facility we currently enjoy
Phase 1 – Timeshare Village
Whilst we are not against some development we have some concerns as follows:-
Siting of Kids Club, adventure golf and play area – Should be re-sited to top end near entrance to village – reduce noise and traffic within timeshare village
Density of development compared to original plan in lease
